It converts a raw (uncompressed) digital\u00a0video\u00a0to a compressed format or vice versa.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em><u>Usage<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0 <strong><em>Video<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>codecs<\/em><\/strong> are used in\u00a0<strong>DVD<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0video <strong>CD<\/strong>\u00a0players and <em>recorders, video broadcast systems, personal computers, <\/em>and a variety of other applications.
